It seemed that everything Tracey Brooks touched turned to gold. She earned varsity letters in four high school sports, went on to success in college and law school, was mentored by some influential elected officials and ran for U.S. Congress all by age 38. Her loss of that election was the first in a series of experiences that introduced her to the harder side of life: loss, grief and illness.
